Cumming occupies 6.1 square miles and is located in the center of Forsyth County. It is 39 miles northeast tram downtown Atlanta, and 15 miles northeast of miles from Atlanta, and northeast of Alpharetta.

Like many of the other North Atlanta communities, Cumming is considered exurban (a region or settlement that lies outside a city, usually beyond its suburbs, and often inhabited chiefly by affluent families).

Cumming offers the charm of a small town. Adding to that will be the completion of The Cumming City Center near downtown that will create a “main-street Americana” feel. Features will include approximately 117,000 square feet of retail space, a new Cumming Police and Municipal Court building, an amphitheater adjacent to a small lake, and greenspace including several “pocket parks. However you can’t forget Vickery Village rounding out the mixed use, top of the line residential, shopping and dining landscape.
