Johns Creek

Living in Johns Creek

The first reference to Johns Creek as a place occurred in the late 80’s by the founders of Technology Park Atlanta. They purchased land along McGinnis Ferry Road and Medlock Bridge Road to develop a secondary Technology Park campus… Technology Park Johns Creek. It grew over the years to become the home of 200 companies – many of them Fortune 500 firms – with nearly 11,000 people spread over 6 million square feet of office, retail, and industrial space.

By 2000, a grassroots movement to incorporate the Johns Creek area into a city was slowly developing. It was only one of three main communities north of the Chattahoochee in Metro Atlanta that was not incorporated by that time. In 2005, a legislative campaign was begun to incorporate the Johns Creek community, and ultimately approved in 2006. The City of Johns Creek became official on December 1, 2006 and today is the 10th largest city in Georgia with more than 80,000 residents that strives to be an exceptional residential community with a lively town center, and a vibrant business community.
