The City of Peachtree Corners is Gwinnett County’s newest city. Situated in one of the fastest growing counties in Georgia, Peachtree Corners is conveniently located to major highways I-85, I-285 and GA 400 and just 30 minutes northeast of Atlanta. Founded on July 1, 2012, it is home to over 40,000 residents.
The new city’s roots began in the late 1960s. The land that was once a farming settlement with a tavern, an inn, a church and a post office on a dusty stop on the way to Atlanta, has become a thriving, active home to many neighborhoods, wonderful schools, charming townhome living, thriving retail shops, fine dining and bustling businesses. Only 21 miles from downtown Atlanta, Peachtree Corners is located in the western corner of Gwinnett County. The city is bordered to the north and west by the Chattahoochee River and is located east of Dunwoody.
The Chattahoochee River defines the northern and western border, with Johns Creek and Roswell its neighbors just over the river and to the north.
The cities of Dunwoody and Sandy Springs border the western side of Peachtree Corners.
Fun Fact
Peachtree Corners is the only one of Atlanta’s northern suburbs that was developed as a planned community. It began with Technology Park/Atlanta, a campus of low-rise buildings that would house high technology industries to employ, among others, engineer graduates from Georgia Tech.
