Sandy Springs
Living in Sandy Springs
Sandy Springs, incorporated in 2005 as a city in northern Fulton County, Georgia is the state’s sixth largest city (just after Athens) and is the site of several large US corporate headquarters. Sandy Springs offers more than 20 miles of beautiful shoreline along the Chattahoochee River, perfect for all types of outdoor recreation activities, and is coveted due to its proximity to the metro Atlanta area, and its myriad offerings. So close to “the city” yet three National Park Sites within Sandy Springs provide opportunities for picnicking, fishing, hiking and wildlife viewing all year-round (the city boasts 950 acres of parks and natural areas).
Just minutes from downtown Atlanta, and a short drive or MARTA ride away from Metro Atlanta’s top attractions. With big-city excitement just minutes away, and the great restaurants, shopping, arts facilities, and strong public school system, the best of two worlds can be enjoyed, and the best of the modern south. Residents of Sandy Springs can enjoy the big city one moment, and the warm hospitality of the hundreds of independently-owned restaurants and shops the next.
